Our Organic and Fair Trade beans are selected for their exquisite flavor and for the care and attention given to the fragile, mountainous places where they are born. Fair Trade [certified by TransFairUSA] has established price guarantees, which ensure that the small-scale farmers who grow and process these beans receive a fair price for their efforts. This enables farmers to care for themselves, their families, and their communities while reinvesting in the care and quality of their coffee. 

    

With the exception of Rain Forest Nut, our Fair Trade coffees are organic [certified by QAI], and cultivated with natural gardening techniques like composting, and terracing. They are grown entirely without pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. -interspersed with other plants-to preserve vanishing wildlife habitat and discourage erosion.

Organic Earl Grey Tea - A fairly traded Pekoe grade tea made from the finest tips and buds of certified organic Darjeeling. This tea is infused with natural bergamot oil to create a light fragrant cup that can provide a refreshing lift to any part of your day.

Organic Darjeeling Tea - The Darjeeling region of Northern India is known for its delicate and fragrant tea. This unblended Darjeeling Tea has a bright, full flavor and floral aroma.

Hot Chocolate

Hot Chocolate 12 oz can - Equal Exchange's organic cocoa is cultivated on small plots under a shade canopy that preserves critical elements of the native Dominican forests. Biologists have determined that this gentle, chemical free method of farming helps to maintain bio-diversity and protect the winter habitat of millions of migratory songbirds.
Unlike mass market brands our cocoa does not contain any:

  • Corn syrup solids 

  • Vegetable oils. Hydrogenated palm, soybean, cottonseed & safflower oil and partially hydrogenated palm kernel, coconut, & canola oil are used by some large manufacturers. 

  • Various chemicals including: sodium caseinate, dipotassium phosphate, sodium silicoalaluminate, mono- and diglycerides

  • Artificial flavors

Our mix is a simple recipe of natural and organic ingredients:

  • Certified fair trade organic evaporated sugar cane juice 

  • Certified fair trade organic cocoa 

  • Certified organic non-fat dry milk powder 

  • Cellulose gum, salt and vanilla.
